Have you ever tried to Write a Article but you got stuck. Whether in the Settings, Options or in the Process. I Got Stuck too but with Experience and trying it again and again I was able to discover some Components which are included or can be included in a blog post.

These are all the Components, Just have a Look

  • Title
  • Slug / Permalink
  • Categories & Tags
  • Introduction
  • Headings & Subheadings
  • Featured Image/ Thumbnail
  • Text Content
  • Media Content
  • Links ( Internal & External)
  • Conclusion
  • Excerpt

So, Here, Now I am going to explain them One by One in DetailsTitle

1. Title

Title is Something which you can treat as the Main Topic which represent your Article,

2. Permalink and Slug

Green Box Represent the Permalink and Red one Represent Slug

Permalink is the Full URL of Your Blog or Any Page, and Slug the Portion which Represent the Article. and You can Actually Change your Slug According to your Need in the Block Editor

3. Taxonomies

We may have thousands of Articles on our Blog/Website but How do we organize them. The Sole Purpose of Taxonomies are to Group Similar Posts and allow visitors to browse or filters through the Articles. and WordPress makes it possible with Categories and Tags.

Lets Find out some details about them

a) Category

Categories are a Systematic and Organized Method of Organizing or Grouping the Articles.
These can have Sub-Categories which makes the Hierarchy of Categories. For Example, In Smartphones Industry We can Device it into Two categories on Bases of Operating System, Android and IOS.

So Here, Smartphone can be a Main Category and Android and IOS can be its Sub-categories

b) Tag

Tags work with an Unsystematic and Unorganized Method of Grouping Similar Stuff which all individual and separate from each other, Neither they have any heirarachy, Nor they have any Sub-Tags (Child Elements)

Eg. If I am Talking about Components of Article, I can Add Tags like Blogging, how to write article, what are all options in an article.

4. Intro

Intro is the First Portion of an article/ Blog post which you write to start your article.

Well, You can take the example of your favorite class teacher. Most of Such Teachers start their class with some Story or Some interesting stuff and then they finally start their chapter

5. Heading and Sub-Headings

There are 6 Heading Levels in HTML (A Coding Language Used for Website Layouts) and That’s same in Case of WordPress as Well. and Even Most Popular Word Processing Software viz MS Word

In WordPress Editors (Classic as well as Block Editor), We have Similar Options.

There are 6 Headings,

H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6

What is Use of These Heading and How they Work, This is All Interesting as well as Very Important for your Blog or Website.

These 6 Headings Defines the Levels or Important of Headings.

Eg. H1 is the Title of Page, So, you have to Use H2 for its Sub Heading, and All Points in your article which are of same important, should be H2.

3)   Heading  (h2)

    a) Sub-Heading of 3rd Heading (h3)
    b) Sub-Heading of 3rd Heading (h3)

    c) Sub-Heading of 3rd Sub-Heading (h3)

5)   Heading  (h2)

See, This a Example of How these Headings are Used, and All this Create a Hierarchy of Computerized Algorithms of Google and Other Search Engines, To Understand your Content Better.

6. Featured Image/ Thumbnail

Featured Image is the Image that Represent your Article or Blog post. This can be sometimes Called as Thumbnail but it is actually Featured Image.

You don’t have to add this in your Content. You can Set Featured Image for Your Post from the Right Sidebar.

This Image will be shown with your Article on Various Places.

7. Text Content

Who Don’t Understand this. All of the Content is Text and You can add it as Paragraph, Lists, Quotes, Codes and Much More Customized Blocks are There.

8. Media Content

A Blog Post without Media Content feels like a Room without Windows. So, It is always better to Add Some Media to Your Articles and Blog Posts.

You can add Images, Videos, Audios etc.

and for this there are various options provided in WordPress Editors. You can Embed Media Items from Third Party Hosts like YouTube, Splash by Using Links and Embed Codes.

9. Links

Have you seen A Big Cranes Taking stuff from one Place to Another.

Yes, I am talking about the Same. The Tool that Get Attached to the Objects is Called an Anchor. It helps to hold the object and then deliver it at other place.

Same, Links are those Anchors, They takes you from One Website to Another.

and This can be Different Page/Post of Same Website or Some Other Website. which Brings us to two types of links

a) Internal Links

It is as simple as it Seems, but is More Important on the Same time. Internal Links are Links to the Other Pages/Posts of Same Website. It helps to Inter-connect Content of website.

Like, On a Wikipedia Page,

You can find the best examples, Just have a look on the Above Image. Its About Kullu, A District of Himachal (My Hometown 😍)

and all the text that is Highlighted are actually links which are linked to other pages of Wikipedia. For Example, There is one for a Page which takes you to the Wikipedia Page of Himachal Pradesh.

Internal Links work like this, you can add link to other pages in the same website.

a) External Links (Backlinks)

External links are something that is so much popular now a Days. Also Called as Backlinks, are termed as a Major Factor in SEO and Search Rankings. Such Links takes you to thirdparty websites.

but Are External Links and Backlinks Same ??

Nope, The difference is there of Prospective. In My Website, If I am Adding a Link to your Website, I can call it External Link. and You will call it A Backlink for Your Website, Because I am linking to your website.

Excerpt

The Content in Green Box is Excerpt

Excerpt is the Summary of Articles that can be shown as overview of your article at Blog Pages, Category Pages etc.

General, WordPress automatically uses first few lines as Excerpt in case you have not specified it.

but If you want to add something Specific You can do so using Excerpt Section in Post Settings of Post.

Conclusion

Conclusion is Also a Very Important part of your article. It Should End the Article in a way to create Some Engagement. or To Make your Audience Take some Action. and that’s what I am going to do.

All these Elements or components can be be Used or better to be used in your article and more you use them more you understand. There is a Lot more to explore and lot more to know about it and I will try to make everything easy for you to my best efforts.
